POLITICAL TSUNAMI, GENOCIDE AND VIOLENCE IN NIGERIA.
AUTHOR: IKECHUKWU OGBUEHI.
The administrative incapability and ineptitude shown under president Buhari’s watch is a clear indication that the age of Methusela had nothing to do with the wisdom of Solomon. This is evidential with the claim of many Nigerians that the voted for Buhari because of Boko Haram insurgency and much security threats that bedevilled the country before his assumption to office. They further stressed that since he was a retired military personnel who had undergone many military trajectories on security and defence, he would by no means drag the country into security and defence mess. The above assumptions were creatively logical and to a relative degree, I gave weight to them but the reverse now is the case. The political violence and brouhaha seen in this administration has surpassed that of his predecessors and I wonder what Nigerians could enjoy as citizens if the core responsibility of the government (security) has fled to the world of the unreachable.
FULANI HERDSMEN.
When Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state spoke last week accusing president Buhari and allies of being responsible for the herdsmen killing in his state. It was not much clear to us till he (Ortom) told us that he wrote to president Buhari on the issue two times before the saga escalated to this extent and nothing was done. He (Buhari) did not reply his letter the governor claimed. Acquisition and purchase of weapon is a product of riches. A poor man who struggles for his daily bread cannot think of possessing a sophisticated weapon.
MY QUESTION.
Where did they(Fulani herdsmen) acquire such weapons that most of the security agencies in this country do not have?, who is financing the purchase?, who has taught them how to shoot to the level of becoming more perfect than most of our security agents?, why has this administration failed to take immediate actions on this issue the way she has been taking on other security threats?, why have the fulanis continue to brag that they will do more harm in this nation and nothing will happen as alleged?. The AK riffle that these fulanis are in possession of as I learnt cost two million naira each. The question still repeats itself, where has a fulani Bororo/ fulani Gida acquire such amount of money? Honestly they deceive us a lot in this country and that is why the country has experienced stunted growth. Recall that the legislators blew hot last week and lambasted him(Buhari ) over his passivness.
IPOB & HER PRO SCRIPTION.
Recall also that president Buhari proscribed the IPOB and brand them as terrorist group. A trustworthy and outspoken senator Samuel Anyanwu (senator Imo East) told him to proscribe the herdsmen and term them as terrorist group the way he did to the IPOB. I wonder how an armless man could be defined in any lexicon as a terrorist
THE EXECUTIVE AND LEGISLATIVE RELATIONSHIP.
This regime has experienced the worst of cordial relationship that exist in any ideal presidentialism. The mistrust and distrust, the paranoid and egoism are very flagrant now. The country has been kept stagnant for three years with empty promises. I wonder if Nigeria could soon be located in any map if this continues. In conclusion, this regime should know that the lives of Nigerians do not worth their personal ambition/interest under any guise. The citizens should be treated like people that have natural rights.
OGAZIE CONCLUDED THAT THE SANCTION FOR SUCH A CRIME IS MORE THAN torpedoes in a true and fortified democracy
