The founder of Sahara Reporters News, Omoyele Sowore has told the federal government of Nigeria to return the sum of N1billion Access bank donated to help Nigeria in the fight against Coronavirus.
Mr Sowore who wrote on his official page, noted that the refund request will assist the bank that is currently going through financial challenges.
“FGN should immediately return N1billion #COVID19 donation to
Access Bank @myaccessbank to enable the bank pay its workers! It is obvious that the bank management didn’t make the donation out of abundance or in good faith”
The bank last week, announced plans to sack its workers as a result of the negative impact of the Coronavirus outbreak.
Herbert Wigwe, Group Managing Director of Access Bank had said that apart from the mass sacking, which would affect about 75 per cent of the bank’s workers, he would take the lead in having the highest pay cut of 40 per cent.
