World Trade Organization Accepts Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s Nomination:
Recall that Nigeria on 9 June 2020, nominated Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala for the post of World Trade Organisation Director – General to succeed Mr Roberto Azevêdo who has announced that he will step down on 31 August 2020.
The nomination which did not go down well with Egypt was protested yesterday but the Geneva- based global trade body went ahead and accepted her nomination.
In a three paragraph statement on its website yesterday said “Nigeria nominates Okonjo- Iweala for the position of its director general.
I feel the former minister of finance and former managing Director (operations) of the world Bank is best suited for the job looking at her captivating resume.
