General Otiki about to be sentenced over missing N400m.

The news of five soldier belonging to the escort of the former General officer commanding (GOC) 8 Division Sokoto, Maj-General Hakeem Otiki sometimes in July 2019 over abscondment with the sum of 400 million naira while escorting a very important personality to Kaduna will be decided today Monday 15 June

Recall that immediately after the incident, the Nigeria Army on September 17 2020 set up a General Court Martial to try the GOC, General Otiki.

He was later picked up by the force and kept under house arrest for the alleged crime.

Otiki’s soldiers with his relative who are now at large abandoned their service riffles, phones, uniforms and other military accoutrement escaped with the loot while one of their fellows who declined to participate in the crime reported the matter to the military authorities.

The Court Martial which is set to pass judgement today in Abuja resumed sitting at about 11 am and had Lt. General Lamidi Adeosun as its president while Major A Mohammed was a Judge advocate. The judge advocate read the charges against the accuse Otiki at the proceeding of the court Martial.

The president of the Court, Lt.Gen. Adeosun later adjourned the court to 7pm when the judgement would be delivered on the accused.
