Amotekun and herdsmen clash in Oyo Community, killed seven

Personnel of Oyo State Security Network Agency, also known as Operation Amotekun and some Fulani herdsmen engaged in a clash at Aiyete in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of the state and seven persons were reportedly killed

The clash was said to have started at Okebi village on Saturday morning but the cause of the violence could not be immediately ascertained at the moment, Galaxy TV reports.

A man by name Salisu, who claimed to be a resident of the area confirmed that many houses were completely destroyed.

According to him, Alhaji Usman Okebi and his two sons were killed adding that the cause of the fight were not known as some individuals were shot and others injured.

He stated that the number of people that lost their lives has increased to seven while those who were shot and ran away later died in the bush.

Another source said the clash was between the Amotekun Corps and Bororo people adding that some persons were killed but could justify the incident.

The network Commandant in the state, Col. Olayinka Olayanju (rtd), when contacted said he was on his way to the town to ascertain what happened.

He pledged to explain further on the incident after necessary investigation.
