The leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra, (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu official Facebook page has been pulled down by the major social media platform, Facebook.
It should be noted that this is not the first time Facebook has restricted the page of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and was later restored back.
Meanwhile no official explanation has been given for the sudden incident by Facebook.
IPOB leader’s page was first restricted before Facebook finally pulled it down after his broadcast.
However, IPOB members have accused Nigerian government of allegedly compelled Facebook to take down its leader page, describing it as an abuse of his freedom of speech.
Buhari’s administration had appealed to the social media giant to ban IPOB leader, accusing him of inflammatory rhetoric encouraging insurrection and chaos in the country- NN News.
Facebook had pulled down Radio Biafra group that have over 1 million followers.
Media practitioners had noted that If the restrictions is permanent, Facebook could be the first major platform to remove Nnamdi Kanu permanently from its platform.
