Nigeria Sets to Deport 48,000 Refugees

The Federal Government of Nigeria is prepared for the repatriation of the forty-eight thousand refugees of Borno extraction from Minawawo camp of the Cameroon republic billed to begin on twenty-sevenths of February 2021, following the signing of the revised standard procedure for the voluntary return of the refugees home.

The issue was brought to the fore at the end of the tripartite commission meeting held in Maroua.

The source reports that the meeting was attended by Nigerian delegation including Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, representatives of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally displaced persons, UNHCR and Cameroonian officials and other stakeholders.
