The Nigerian Government will recruit 30,960 graduates as community security officers to drive implement the policy of Community Safety and Human Security Programme (CSHSP) in Nigeria.
With the development, each of the 774 local governments in the Nigeria will have 40 of the officers.
During the lunch of a 17-man committee on CSHSP in Abuja yesterday, the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Government Affairs, George Akume, maintained that this was to strategize on ways to curtail crimes and violence in the country.
“This is to expand the narratives and intelligence towards community safety, first at the local level which in most instances act as a springboard for all major violence and conflicts that escalate to national acrimony.”
Head of the committee Akume, said the programme was also initiated to create over 30, 000 jobs for the youths and generate skilled manpower for over 50,000 women across Nigeria.
